Golden Eagle Distributing Corporation was founded in 1946 by the Sheppard family under the name of Western Chain Saw Company. Our primary business in the early years was selling chain saws and accessories to professional loggers and dealers in the extreme northern California market. In 1973, the Company, which by then had incorporated under the name Chain Saw Sales Inc., began distribution of Echo Outdoor Power Equipment. Echo is a world leader in the manufacture of two-cycle engines, trimmers/brushcutters, chain saws, power blowers and hedge trimmers. Our success with Echo products, as well as our desire for expansion, led to our relocation to West Sacramento in 1978 under the new name of Golden Eagle Distributing Corporation. Today, we are the largest Echo distributor in the United States and we are wholly owned by Yamabiko Corporation, parent company of ECHO, Inc.
